Human Rules
Human Rules
- There are only human and Pokemon characters. No Pokemorphs or hybrid Pokemon.
- Anime/Manga/Fanart images only please, sticking with the Pokemon world and whatnot. Don't use a Pokemon canon face unless you're applying for that canon.
- All trainer types and Teams are accepted, and feel free to get creative with your trainer. Optional things to consider include their Pokemon type preference and their occupation outside of being a trainer.
- Humans can be any age. Please don't all go for 15 - 18 year olds, I'd like to see some variety! And be relatively realistic; a 10-year-old isn't going to be an uber pro trainer. The youngest trainers can possibly become phenomenal is around 14, but anything really amazing under 17 is going to be rare.
- Try not to have a team of super Pokemon. I don't want to see bunch of six-Pokemon teams with fully evolved Pokemon like a ton of starters and pseudo-legendaries(Tyranitar, Metagross, etc.).
- Speaking of which, every human character is allowed only one starter, unless in the instance of a canon character with a preset team or if a character catches another starter in the wild over the course of a roleplay.
- Also regarding Pokemon teams, no legendaries except in special event circumstances.
- Regardless of protagonist or antagonist, try to make your character realistic personality-wise. If you're of these two categories your character is human; in real life, even most "bad guys" have some degree of conscience, although greed can make people do terrible things and there are such things as sociopaths. And even if your character is a protagonist, that doesn't mean he/she's a perfectly good person(In fact, if your initially protagonist character is offered recruitment into Team Rocket/Veritas, don't be afraid to have them accept if properly persuaded). Likewise, an antagonist isn't always going to be a purely evil person. And however they are, back up their persona - i.e. if your character is a cold heartless machine, explain in their history how they came to be such.
- Team Rocket and Veritas headquarters subforums are password protected so that most fiendish plots can be kept largely secret from protagonists, as would happen in real life. Passwords for their respective headquarters will be PMed to accepted Rocket and Veritas players, and I ask that those who receive this password not abuse it by spreading it to the opposite team or to non-Rocket/Veritas players.
- Any other antagonists or rogues who become involved in Team Rocket or Veritas and earn their trust enough to be allowed into headquarters can PM me for the password.
- If you have more than one character, one of whom is not a Rocket or Veritas, well that can't be helped, but make sure your protagonist character is completely unaware of what goes on inside headquarters unless they're in some way informed of something through the course of a roleplay.
Pokemon Rules
- There are only human and Pokemon characters. No Pokemorphs or hybrid Pokemon.
- Anime/Manga/Fanart images only please, sticking with the Pokemon world and whatnot.
- The only legendary permitted to be played is the canon Mew. Other legendaries may open up in the future if needed.
- You can either be wild or belong to a human. In the latter instance, you'll want to discuss with a human player if their character could use/would want your Pokemon character, and if they accept the two of you can plot out the relationship in the Brainstorm section.
- If wild, you can be caught. If you start an open thread and a trainer posts attempting to catch you, you have to battle the trainer's Pokemon. Somewhat depending on your character's catch rate, over the course of the battle once you are weakened enough that a Pokeball is thrown at you, you can either submit to being caught or you can break the Pokeball and flee.
- For Pokemon characters and a trainer's Pokemon, more than four moves are allowed, but keep them realistic to what that species of Pokemon is capable of learning. If your Pokemon character is wild it's not going to have access to TMs or HMs, either(though needless to say, a Lapras is going to be capable of ferrying people across water whether it knows Surf or not, etc.).
If you have any questions regarding characters, feel free to PM me or post in the Feedback section~
